Code of Ethical Conduct Policy

Istanbul Aydın University aims to cultivate individuals who are responsible and contribute value to society and the nation, with a human-centered approach, by producing science and technology and creating knowledge. For this purpose, it aims to be a symbol of reliability, continuity, and respectability for its students, graduates, employees, suppliers, and civil society organizations at both national and global levels. The Code of Ethical Conduct always adopts the principles of striving to be the best, creating resources for continuous improvement, adding strength to the country, considering human resources as the most valuable asset, and embracing superior business ethics with the approach of “Our most important capital is our human resources.”

 

PRINCIPLES

  • Communication with Stakeholders: Valuing employees and treating them with respect and ethical standards regarding employee rights.
  • Employee Health and Safety: Embracing the principle that improvement activities under this heading are the joint responsibility of all employees by fulfilling all legal and other obligations regarding occupational health and safety.
  • Information Management: Placing high importance on keeping all kinds of information and documents produced within the institution within the institution.
  • Corporate Communication: Ensuring that news or promotional statements are made only by Istanbul Aydın University representatives designated in accordance with the Institution Information Principles.
  • Communication with the Public: Faculty members should refrain from expressing personal views that bind the University in sharing opinions with the public.
  • Employee Responsibility: Acting in accordance with relevant ethical rules and all application principles supporting these rules in the duties undertaken, avoiding behaviors that may damage the reputation of Istanbul Aydın University in both business and private life.
  • Compliance with Laws and Legal Processes: Acting in accordance with the laws, international agreements to which the Republic of Turkey is a party, Foundation University Regulations, and working principles, and preventing any employee other than those authorized to do so according to the valid signature circulars or special authorization documents from committing any act that would commit Istanbul Aydın University to any transaction.
  • Corporate Competition: Not engaging in agreements or behaviors with competitors or other individuals or organizations, directly or indirectly, outside the limits permitted by legislation, that aim to prevent, disrupt, or restrict competition or have or may have such an effect.
  • Avoiding Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest: Informing the management if there is any knowledge of the violation of laws, regulations, ordinances/directives, or rules to which the University is subject.
  • Protection of Intellectual Property Rights: Ensuring that legal procedures for securing the intellectual property rights of newly developed services, processes, and software are initiated and completed in a timely manner; Avoiding the unauthorized use, knowingly, of patents, copyrights, trade secrets, trademarks, computer programs, or other intellectual and industrial property rights belonging to other institutions.
